A blue and dreamy show, first NYC experience with video as theatrical set pieces, a personal transition from independent installation art to collaborative event making.

projected on stage floor at Casa Italiana, stadium seating on four sides.

Nine 30-second transitions; post-apocylyptic-punk, static-infused, mind-numbing visuals along with Glamb’s score electrifying the inside of the protaginist’s head as she undergoes a nueral stimulation simulating the presence of spirit in it’s multifarious forms.

Front-projected on multiple surfaces.

Immersive transitional video with an adrenaline-infused score from Joe Iconis. Content composed of original footage from around NYC, video shoots with ReWrite’s actors, and animation. A wall clock changing its face between scenes lived on a monitor hung upstage and ticked away in real time as the story fell from a state of donut and coffee infused memory to the present.

A single projector offers full coverage of the stage with video content placed as needed. Video serves no single potential in this production; geographical (place-setting), internal (vision from within a character), practical (live-feed, televisions), additive design (abstract form); with Espíritus we allow a fluid relationship between visual languages. Scrims on sliders allow for quickly changing projection’s depth.

Front-projected on a wide surface defined by a
crumbling picture frame.

Content drawn from period photography, vintage postcards, and original material.
In-scene video’s imperceptible movement and changes evolved into striking visual shifts offering the audience alternating perspectives on given scenes; a new world sneaking in over time.

Glimpses of Irena’s memory, shrouded by time and shaped in reaction to her emotional journey. Content was culled from period photography, recomposed and collaged to fuse with the set and play with the depth of the stage.
